Pediatric CPR and First Aid Blended Learning

American Heart Association Pediatric CPR First Aid Certification (Blended Learning)
The Blended Learning Pediatric CPR First Aid class is a hybrid learning course that consists of an online Pediatric CPR First Aid class followed by an in-person Skills Session with an AHA instructor. The Skills Session is a hands-on test and demonstration of the skills the student learned during the online class. This Blended Learning class is appropriate for both initial and renewal Pediatric CPR First Aid certification.
The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Blended Learning course covers training and certification in CPR, AED use, choking management, and first aid for children and infants (adults are an optional component).
The following topics are covered:
- CPR and AED use
- Choking
- Shock
- Allergic reactions and use of an EpiPen
- Asthma and other respiratory emergencies
- First aid basics
- Injuries to the head, eyes, neck, spine, mouth, and teeth
- Controlling bleeding, bandaging, using a tourniquet, and internal bleeding
- A variety of medical, injury, poison, and environmental emergencies including burns, electrical injuries, dehydration, drowning, amputations, bites and stings, splinters, fainting, seizures, broken bones, dislocations, and sprains
During the in-person Pediatric CPR and First Aid Skills Session, participants have an opportunity to review the cardiac arrest algorithm and first aid skills, as well as practice CPR and using an AED. Then participants will be tested on CPR and first aid scenarios.

We provide this Blended Learning Pediatric CPR First Aid class as a private individual or group class, either in our classroom or at your location. Please note that Blended Learning, e-learning, or online Pediatric CPR First Aid trainings such as this class are not approved for people who work in CA licensed childcare facilities.
The Pediatric CPR First Aid class is also available as a traditional in-person, instructor-led classroom course. The in-person version of this course includes added elements to meet state and EMSA requirements for CPR and first aid training for California childcare providers who work in a CA licensed childcare facility. This class is intended for non-medical personnel or laypersons who desire an in-depth, online training and certification class covering CPR, AED, and first aid for children and infants.
If you are a California childcare provider, or work or intend to work in a CA licensed childcare facility (childcare providers, daycare workers, preschool teachers, camp counselors, coaches, and bus drivers), please enroll in our in-person Pediatric CPR and First Aid class.
If you do not work or intend to work in a CA licensed childcare facility, please enroll in our CPR and First Aid class or request a CPR and First Aid Blended Learning class. These classes also cover CPR and First Aid for children and infants.
If you are a new parent or family member wanting a wealth of information on cpr, choking, and safety for newborns and infants (up to 1 year old), please enroll in our Infant CPR for Parents class.
