American Heart Association PALS Certification Class (HeartCode PALS Blended Learning)

The Blended Learning HeartCode PALS class is a hybrid learning course that consists of a PALS online class followed by an in-person PALS Skills Session with our AHA instructor.  The Skills Session consists of a brief review followed by hands-on practice and demonstration of the PALS skills learned during the online class.  This course is appropriate for initial PALS certification and PALS renewal / PALS update.

Students receive an American Heart Association PALS Provider certification, which is valid for two years.  The American Heart Association PALS certification is the gold standard, which is why we teach to AHA guidelines and provide AHA certifications.

The AHA HeartCode PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills.

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support online class will teach students how to:

  • Perform high quality CPR per AHA BLS recommendations
  • Contribute as a high-performance team member
  • Determine whether the patient requires immediate intervention or not
  • Differentiate between and perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
  • Differentiate between and perform early interventions for compensated and hypotensive shock
  • Differentiate between and demonstrate treatments for stable and unstable patients with dysrhythmias
  • Implement post arrest management

During the AHA HeartCode PALS Skills Session (also known as a PALS Assessment, PALS Psychomotor Skills Assessment, PALS Skills Check, or PALS Hands-On Session), participants will have an opportunity to review the current PALS guidelines with the instructor before demonstrating pediatric BLS and megacode scenarios.

We also offer the in-person, instructor-led American Heart Association PALS course (initial or renewal) privately to individuals and groups, either in our classroom or at your location.

This PALS certification class serves healthcare professionals throughout Sonoma County, including Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, and Petaluma, as well as Napa County, Marin County, and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
