EMTs are required to pass both a cognitive and psychomotor exam, and therefore NREMT test prep is crucial. The EMT psychomotor exam is administered by either the State EMS Office or the training institution (with approval and oversight provided by the State EMS Office). The psychomotor exam is a test of the students’ basic EMT skills. NREMT Skill Sheets provide a comprehensive performance checklist for each of the required skills, which is used as a guideline by the testing center to evaluate the student.
